Local Diving & Events

We believe the best way to become a better diver is to spend more time in the water and staying involved in the dive community. Whether you are newly certified, returning to diving after a break, visiting the area, or simply looking for more opportunities to dive, Aquatic Specialties offers a range of community-based diving opportunities, events, and clinics throughout the year.

The best way to stay connected is through our Discord server, where we post all upcoming dives, classes, and shop events!

JOIN OUR DIVE COMMUNITY

The Aquatic Specialties Discord server is the central hub for our local dive community!

Through the server, you can:

  • Stay informed about upcoming dives and events
  • Learn about classes, clinics, and workshops
  • Connect with other local divers
  • Find dive buddies for shore dives and outings*
  • See travel and group dive opportunities
  • Receive shop announcements and updates

* While Aquatic Specialties does not directly arrange buddy pairings between certified divers, many local divers use the server to connect and organize dives with each other. If you are new to the area or unsure about someone you have met through the community, please feel free to contact the shop - we are happy to help provide guidance and peace of mind.

GUIDED GROUP DIVES

Our dive professionals are in the water regularly throughout the dive season, and certified divers are welcome to join when space is available. These guided dives are organized and posted through our Discord server, along with site details and availability!

These dives are a great way to:

  • Dive local sites with experienced professionals
  • Meet and connect with other divers
  • Build comfort and confidence in local conditions
  • Learn site-specific tips and conditions
  • Stay active in the diving community

Availability varies by weekend, weather conditions, and Dive Professional schedules. Rental equipment may also be limited on certain weekends, as training classes receive priority access to rental gear. Divers requiring rental equipment should contact the shop a few days before their planned dives to confirm availability. Because class schedules and rental demand can change, we are unable to reserve equipment or accurately confirm rental availability more than a week in advance.

DIVE CLINICS

Learning does not stop after certification. Throughout the year, we host a variety of Dive Clinics designed to help divers improve skills, build confidence, and get more enjoyment out of the sport.

We regularly rotate clinic topics based on community interest, seasonal diving conditions, and upcoming events. Our Dive Clinics are typically offered once or twice per month and are announced through Discord and in-store.

Some of our clinic topics include:

  • Finning Techniques
  • Building Save-A-Dive Kits
  • Underwater Photo Editing
  • Knot Tying
  • Cold Water Diving
  • Becoming a Dive Professional
  • How to Pick a Dive Site
  • And More!

No matter your experience level, our clinics provide a fun and relaxed environment to continue learning and connect with other members of the local dive community!
