Scuba diving at the famous Blue Heron Bridge, also known as Phil Foster Park, is an experience every diver should have! Named the world’s best dive site in 2013 by PADI’s Sport Diver magazine, Blue Heron Bridge stands out for its rich diversity of marine life and easy accessibility, making it an exceptional destination for divers.
Diving here offers the chance to encounter rare and fascinating sea creatures, including seahorses and pipefish in various sizes and colors. Octopuses, including the Atlantic long-arm (mimic octopus), are common in the area. You'll also encounter unique species like sea robins, flying gurnards, batfish, frogfish, stargazers, and over 100 species of nudibranchs. Nurse sharks, reef sharks, and lemon sharks are frequently spotted in the region. Average water temperatures at Blue Heron Bridge range from 72°F to 76°F in January.
This trip to Phil Foster/Blue Heron Bridge is designed specifically for our customers who are looking for an affordable warm-weather dive destination and/or Advanced Open Water students looking to complete their checkout dives! We will be diving with Pura Vida Divers, enjoying a mix of boat dives and shore dives—including a night dive at Blue Heron Bridge, weather permitting! Boat dives are conducted in drift dive fashion, so a SMB is required. Aquatic Specialties' shop owner and SSI instructor, Dave Coyle, will be on hand to assist with completing specialty requirements for SSI deep diving, navigation, and night/limited visibility dives. Non-students are welcome, too, and will be accompanied by a dive guide.

- Fly out and settle in
SATURDAY: January 11th
- 7am - Check in at dock
- 8am - Charter departs for a 2-tank morning dive
- 12pm - Return to dock
- 3pm - Check in at Pura Vida Divers' shop
- 4pm - 1-tank evening/night guided shore dive at Blue Heron Bridge with a Dive Master
SUNDAY: January 12th
- 7am - Check in at dock
- 8am - Charter departs for a 2-tank morning dive
- 12pm - Return to dock
- 1pm - Stop at Pura Vida Divers' shop to return night dive rental equipment
- Off-gas time
MONDAY: January 13th
- Fly home
