Cancellation & Rescheduling Policies
At Aquatic Specialties, we understand that life happens and sometimes plans need to change. To ensure we can offer the best possible experience for all our students, we have the following policies. By enrolling in a course, students acknowledge and agree to all cancellation, rescheduling, and refund policies, as well as student responsibilities for attendance, punctuality, and required equipment, as outlined below.
1. Notice Period and Fees for Rescheduling
- Less than 2 weeks before your start date: $100 for open water and all other specialty classes
- Less than 72 hours before your start date: $200 for open water
2. Notice Period, Fees, and Refund Policy for Cancelling
- More than 2 weeks before your start date: Students will be eligible for a full refund, excluding any digital learning materials that have been issued (cost of these materials varies by course).
- Less than 72 hours before your start date: A cancellation fee will be applied:
- $200 cancellation fee for Open Water classes
- $100 cancellation fee for all other specialty classes
These fees will be deducted from your refund amount. The remaining refund (if any) depends on the specific costs already incurred, such as instructor time, facility reservations, and resource commitments.
3. No-Call and No-Show
If you fail to show up for your scheduled course without prior notice, you may forfeit the full course fee.
4. Special Circumstances
In case of emergencies (I.E. medical reasons), we will do our best to accomodate your situation and may waive the rescheduling/cancellation fee on a case-by-case basis. Please provide any relevant documentation.
5. Multiple Reschedules
If a course is rescheduled more than once, additional fees may apply. We recommend confirming your availability before booking to avoid multiple charges. Aquatic Specialties offers private classes to those with complicated schedules, please contact the shop for more information!
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES DISCLAIMER
Students are soley responsible for meeting all course requirements, including attendance, punctuality, and possession of required equipment.
- Attendance & Punctuality: Students must attend all scheduled sessions and arrive on time. Late arrivals or missed sessions may result in removal from the session and may require rescheduling. Rescheduling fees may apply.
- Required Equipment: Students must have all required personal equipment prior to the first class session. Failure to arrive with required equipment may prevent participation and will be treated as a missed session.
- Gear Transportation: Students are responsible for transporting their own personal equipment and rental equipment to and from each class and dive session. If you are unable to do so, we may be able to assist with transport for an additional surcharge. Please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.

- Compliance with Training Standards: All training is conducted in accordance with SSI standards. Students who are unable or unwilling to meet these standards may be required to reschedule or discontinue training.
Aquatic Specialties is not responsible for delays, missed sessions, or incomplete training resulting from a student's failure to meet these responsibilities.
